A rich, coastal-toned piece with natural variation and character.
Tidepool is a deep teal-green glaze layered over a speckled clay body, creating a surface that shifts between blue and green in the light. The shino glaze breaks into warm brown tones along the rim and edges, adding depth and contrast.
During firing, the rim developed a slight organic warp——giving this piece an "even more handmade, one-of-a-kind feel".
This does not affect functionality. The mug is fully food safe and comfortable to use, with a wide handle and generous 16 oz capacity.
