A one-of-a-kind ceramic vessel inspired by the quiet stillness of the forest.
Real pine, fir, and spruce needles were wedged directly into the clay, leaving behind subtle organic impressions beneath the surface. After an extended drying period to accommodate the unpredictability of natural materials, the piece was bisque fired.
The glaze incorporates handmade pinecone ash, created from pinecones gathered in the mountains, dried, and burned down to ash. During the final firing, the glaze settles into a smooth, glassy surface—softly pooling and shifting in tone across the form.
Deep green hues move between shadow and light, with slight variations and natural markings that reveal themselves slowly over time.
This piece is less about movement and more about presence—grounded, quiet, and enduring.
